Coronavirus: CDC adds three new possible COVID-19 symptoms

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expanded its master list of potential novel coronavirus symptoms in May to include three new indicators.

The most commonly reported symptoms among the nearly 2.6 million COVID-19 patients in the United States to date have been shortness of breath, cough and fever, but the list was expanded May 13 to include the following:

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

The CDC’s list was last updated in April to add:

• Chills

• Repeated shaking with chills

• Muscle pain

• Headache

• Sore throat

• New loss of taste or smell
