TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Bars across Florida are no longer allowed to sell alcohol for on-site consumption effective immediately on Friday, as coronavirus case numbers continue to shatter records in the state.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation made the announcement on social media Friday morning.
Effective immediately, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation is suspending on premises consumption of alcohol at bars statewide.

Florida reported nearly 9,000 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. There have been 114,010 confirmed cases and 3,326 deaths from the coronavirus in Florida, according to The New York Times.
