It’s going to be a long few weeks and months as the nation deals with COVID-19, or the new coronavirus. There are steps you can take now to prepare if you or your family end up coming down with the virus.

- Thermometer
- Acetaminophen, known as Tylenol, 325 mg tablets
- Cough medicine like Mucinex, Robitussin or NyQuil. But check ingredients to make sure you’re not double-dosing on acetaminophen. Also, make sure it is a cough suppressant and an expectorant.
- Vicks Vaporub
- Humidifier
KidsHealth, a website run Nemours, a nonprofit children’s health system, says also homes should have soup, crackers and fluids to stay hydrated.
