Coronavirus: Prince Charles tests positive for COVID-19 again

LONDON — Britain’s Prince Charles has again tested positive for COVID-19.

“This morning, the Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating,” read a Thursday tweet from the official account shared by the 73-year-old and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. “HRH is deeply disappointed not to be able to attend today’s events in Winchester and will look to reschedule his visit as soon as possible.”

This marks the second time that the heir to the British throne has tested positive for the coronavirus. He previously was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March 2020, Clarence House announced at the time.

Thursday’s announcement came just one day after Charles attended a reception at the British Museum, where he “met dozens of people,” according to The Associated Press.

Both Charles and Camilla have said they are vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received their booster shots, the BBC reported in December.
