Adele is postponing her Las Vegas residency, citing the COVID-19 pandemic and delivery delays.
“Weekends With Adele” was supposed to begin Friday at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The singer posted a video on social media explaining her decision, Rolling Stone reported, saying that “it’s been impossible, we’ve been up against so much and it just ain’t ready.”
“Listen, I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID,” Adele said through tears on her video. “Half my crew, half my team are down with COVID -- they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show, and I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted.
“I’m gutted, and I’m sorry it’s so last-minute.”
“Weekends With Adele” was scheduled to run Fridays and Saturdays through April 16, the Times reported. The singer had been scheduled to play a dozen shows at the 4,100-seat venue.
“All dates will be rescheduled,” read the text on Adele’s social media post. “More info coming soon.”
Adele’s latest album, “30,” was released in November, and topped the Billboard chart for six straight weeks, according to The New York Times.
