Before you head to Costco for holiday shopping or to stock up on supplies, be aware, the company has changed its policy for the wearing of face masks.
Originally if a member couldn’t wear a face-covering due to a medical condition, they were exempt from the store policy that shoppers must have their faces covered.
But recently, store officials have changed that policy. Now those with medical conditions still don’t have to wear a mask, but they do have to wear a face shield.
Children under the age of 2 are still exempt from wearing any face covering, the company said.
The company said in a news release that the change may prove to be an inconvenience for some, but added that “We believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience."
