TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man died early Saturday after exiting a moving vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 25-year-old man from Pinellas Park, whose name was not released, exited the vehicle on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County near Tampa, WFLA-TV reported.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Toshia Lizette Caldwell, 38, of Port Richey, was driving southbound on I-275 at around 2:23 a.m. EST, WTVT-TV reported. That was when the passenger exited her 2017 Hyundai Elantra at highway speed and fell onto the roadway.

The man fell onto the road, where he was struck several times by an unknown number of vehicles, the television station reported.
Troopers arrested Caldwell on suspicion of driving under the influence, WFTS-TV reported. According to the FHP, Caldwell had a blood alcohol content of 0.077, according to WTVT.
Caldwell was released on bail at about 4:02 p.m. EST on Saturday, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.
