LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A Florida man was killed early Monday after crashing his vehicle into a bus stop, authorities said.
According to investigators, a man was speeding north on a Lauderhill street in a BMW at about 1:30 a.m., the Sun-Sentinel reported. When a Mercedes-Benz traveling south attempted to turn left, the cars collided, the newspaper reported.
The BMW then slammed into a nearby bus stop, WSVN reported.

According to Lauderhill police Lt. Michael Santiago, the driver of the BMW was taken to an area hospital, where he died, WPLG reported. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, Santiago said.
The identity of the BMW driver was not revealed Monday, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Images tweeted by the Lauderhill Police Department showed the Mercedes had severe front-end damage.
