Harry, Meghan visit Queen Elizabeth II while en route to Invictus Games

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stopped at Windsor Castle on Thursday to visit Queen Elizabeth II, a spokesperson for the couple said Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior royals in January 2020, were heading to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, the BBC reported.

Harry returned to Great Britain a month after he skipped a memorial for his grandfather, Prince Phillip, in London, according to the BBC.

The duchess last appeared in the United Kingdom the Commonwealth Day Service in March 2020, the news network reported. Harry was in the country to unveil a statue of his late mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales, in July 2021.

Harry and Meghan were married at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. They live near Santa Barbara, California, with their two children, Archie, and Lilibet, according to “Good Morning America.”

The queen, who will turn 96 next week, has spent the last several months at Windsor Castle, “Good Morning America” reported.

Harry and Meghan’s official coming out as a couple occurred during the 2017 Invictus Games’ opening ceremony in Toronto, People reported.

The Invictus Games begin Saturday and will run through April 22, the BBC reported. Harry founded the games to aid the rehabilitation of injured or sick military personnel and veterans worldwide.
