According to a statement from Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine, one of their members, Megan, jumped into action during a crash she was involved in after having been on administrative duties as her due date approached.

Megan is also a Baltimore County Fire Department firefighter, according to WMAR.

Just a week or so shy of her due date, Megan had just finished organizing and hosting her late father’s 2nd annual memorial golf tournament when she was involved in a significant motor vehicle collision,” said BQVFD on Facebook.

According to the Today Show, Megan was experiencing labor contractions as she went to help the person who was trapped, but she brushed it aside to be there for them.

BQVFD said that without a thought, Megan got out of her car and provided assistance to a person trapped in their overturned car. She stayed with them until Squad 213 arrived.

“Since no good deed should go unrecognized, we wanted to highlight Megan’s heroic and selfless actions,” BQVFD on Facebook.

About 24 hours later, Megan had her baby — a baby girl — according to BQWFD.

According to the Today Show, Megan and her boyfriend, Joshua Daughterty, named their daughter, Charlotte. She was born on October 4. She has two other siblings named Ellie and Jameson.
