Variety reported that Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, has bruises and injuries to his face.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was beaten up by three or four men outside of a sauna at an LA Fitness, the rapper’s attorney told Variety.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office told WPEC that the assault took place at LA Fitness in Lake Worth Florida.

Gym employees heard the fight, but those who allegedly beat Tekashi 6ix9ine ran. But one of the men can be heard in a video that claims to be from the incident saying “Take a picture. I’m going to be famous now,” Variety reported.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was taken to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment.

WPEC reported that the sheriff’s office is investigating.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced to two years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty in 2019 to multiple counts of racketeering, firearm offenses and drug trafficking. He was eligible to be sentenced to 47 years, but prosecutors said recommended the two-year sentence after he worked with them to help bring down two leaders of a New York gang, NBC News reported.

He was released from federal prison in 2020 after serving part of his sentence because of COVID-19 concerns and because the judge said he was a “model prisoner,” Variety reported.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s attorney Lance Lazzaro told TMZ he plans on requesting protection for his client because of the case.
