PITTSBURG, Kan. — Leisure Time Products is recalling more than 9,000 swing sets sold in the United States and Canada because an attachment that connects the swing hanger to the top tube can fail, posing an injury hazard.
The recall affects three varieties of the Pittsburg, Kansas-based company’s “Backyard Discovery” A-frame swing set line, including the Big Brutus, Little Brutus and Mini Brutus.
An estimated 9,000 of the swing sets were sold online in the United States, and another 270 were sold in Canada, at Amazon.com, www.backyarddiscovery.com, Homedepot.com, Lowes.com Wayfair.com, and other online retailers between May 2019 and January 2021 for between $400 to $570, depending on the model.
Per the recall, the swing sets have a green top tube with white legs and green cross braces and include the following manufacturer codes, located on the label on the swing set’s leg:

Leisure Time Products has received three reports of the swing hanger attachment failing, which resulted in one side of the swing falling. No injuries have been reported, the company stated.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled swing sets and contact Leisure Time Products for a free repair kit.
