Less than four months after Jeremy Renner was critically injured in a snowplow accident, “The Avengers” star’s road to recovery took him directly to a red carpet premiere for his latest project.
Renner attended the premiere of his new Disney+ series “Rennervations” in Los Angeles on Tuesday, The Associated Press reported.
The MCU star used a cane and a knee scooter at times as he posed for photos, did interviews and met with fans.
His appearance is notable after he was crushed by a 14,000-pound snowcat on New Year’s Day while he freed his nephew’s vehicle that had gotten stuck in Nevada snow, USA Today reported.
Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung and a pierced liver, USA Today reported. He discussed how dire his injuries were with Diane Sawyer during his first television interview after the accident.
“Rennervations” executive producer Romilda De Luca said that Renner did not want the show’s premiere to be delayed because of his accident. He said it helped him get through his rehabilitation, which is still ongoing.
“This show set the milestone for me to get better, to make sure that all of our hard work wasn’t for nothing,” Renner said, according to USA Today. “There was no alternative. So for me, it was easy. There was somewhere to go, somewhere to point and I had a lot of love.”
“Rennervations” hit Disney+ on Wednesday and features Renner helping communities around the world as he transforms trucks and buses that he has collected over the years into purpose-filled vehicles, Deadline reported.
In one episode, he took a tour bus and converted it into a movie recording studio for kids in Chicago.
