Reports: Ravens QB Lamar Jackson tests positive for COVID-19

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

Jackson’s diagnosis, first reported Thursday night by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, complicates an already disrupted season that now includes 10 Ravens players on the COVID-19 list, along with a coach and multiple members of the franchise’s office staff.

The Ravens, originally scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, had already rescheduled the matchup for Sunday due to Baltimore’s worsening novel coronavirus outbreak, WPXI reported.

According to NBC’s Pro Football Talk, a decision on what happens with the Steelers-Ravens game will be made on Friday.

Meanwhile, ESPN is reporting Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has ordered the team’s training facility closed until at least Monday, and Jackson is ruled out for Sunday’s game should it proceed.

Jackson’s potential replacements for Sunday’s game include Robert Griffin III or practice squad quarterback Tyler Huntley because backup quarterback Trace McSorely was already on the COVID-19 list, WPXI reported.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported that the chances of Sunday’s game being played are “diminishing quickly.”

According to WPXI, the Steelers have now had three matchups this season disrupted by another team’s COVID-19 activity.
