SAN ANTONIO — Twenty riders were rescued Saturday after getting stuck on a roller coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Update 4:58 p.m. EDT May 29: All 20 people trapped on the Poltergeist roller coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas were rescued Saturday afternoon, KSAT reported. There were no injuries.
“At approximately 11:54 a.m., the Poltergeist coaster stopped in the middle of a ride cycle,” Jeff Filicko, marketing and communications manager for Fiesta Texas, said in a statement. “In cooperation with the San Antonio Fire Department, we safely escorted all twenty guests from the ride. There are no reports of any injuries. The safety of our guests is our highest priority, and the ride will remain closed while we complete a full inspection.”
Original report: The San Antonio Fire Department responded to the theme park around 1 p.m., KENS reported.
Firefighters were helping employees remove passengers from the ride.
No injuries were reported, KABB reported.
