VACAVILLE, Calif. — A truck carrying tomatoes overturned in California, creating a big mess and traffic headaches for drivers.
California Highway Patrol said in a Facebook post that a semitruck carrying tomatoes was involved in a crash involving several vehicles and went through the center divider. When the truck overturned, the load of tomatoes fell into the road, creating a disaster.
Photos shared by CHP show the road’s asphalt smeared red by the tomatoes in the road, as well as a crane working to right the toppled truck.
Some commuters found humor in the messy situation, with a commenter telling KTVU, “I’m stuck in traffic. Y’all go ahead and I’ll ketchup.”
Officers told KCRA that three vehicles were involved, and at least one person was injured and taken to the hospital as a result of the crash.
