Ruby Rose is hanging up the cowl and is leaving the bat cave.
Rose is leaving “Batwoman” after only one season. She made the announcement in a statement, CNN reported.
Producers will now have to find another actress to step into the bat suit before the second season premiers in 2021.
Warner Bros., The CW and Berlanti Productions said in a joint statement that they will cast someone who is a member of the LGBTQ community, like Rose, CNN reported.
Rose played Kate Kane, the first out LGBTQ series lead in the superhero-dominated CW series of shows, with Kane coming out during an episode during its premiere season.
The character was introduced in the 2018-19 Arrowverse crossover, Deadline reported.
No one said why Rose is leaving the series, according to Deadline.
The season was cut short, only producing 20 of the planned 22 episodes because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
