HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Deputies said a Texas father thwarted an apparent robbery attempt by shooting two suspects who opened the door to his family’s vehicle – while his two babies were still strapped in their car seats inside.
According to KRIV-TV and KTRK-TV, the incident occurred shortly after midnight Monday outside the family’s home on Feather Creek Drive in Harris County. In a series of tweets, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the man, his wife and two infants had just arrived home in their SUV when two teenage boys attempted to get inside the vehicle by opening a rear door.
“The adult male feared for the safety of his family and fired shots and struck both suspects,” Gonzalez tweeted Monday morning. “The wife was driving and drove away after the shooting to get away from the suspects.”
