In a news release, Whitley County Sheriff’s Department said that deputies, along with the Williamsburg Police Department and the Kentucky State Police, were at a location in Williamsburg on Friday trying to serve a woman with multiple outstanding warrants for her arrest.

The woman they were trying to serve the warrant to was identified by WYMT as Tina Hicks, 45.

When law enforcement arrived at the house where they thought she would be, none of the adults there were willing to tell them where Hicks might have been, according to WYMT.

However, deputies said, A very brave and honest toddler stood up, put his hands on his hips, and stated ‘it is good to be honest… we shouldn’t lie, she is inside the room next to the bathroom.’” Hicks was found in the bathroom and authorities praised the toddler for his integrity.

The sheriff’s office said that the boy was visiting family and appeared to have been “at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

“He was healthy, intelligent, and in no way appeared to be abused,” deputies said.

Hicks was served with two outstanding warrants for meth possession and drug paraphernalia, according to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office. She was also served with four other outstanding warrants, officials said.

No further information has been released.
