The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office said they were called Sunday when the explorers found a mortar and took it to the Nimrod Bar, WCCO reported.

The problem was, they thought it could be a live explosive.

The round was found by the group with a metal detector at a place with an appropriate name — the Shell City Bridge, the Wadena Pioneer Journal reported.

Crow Wing County Bomb Squad was called and they took custody of the potential explosive.

They were not able to determine if the Korean War-era mortar was live at the time, but said it would be disposed of safely, WCCO reported.
