UPDATE: 1 killed in head-on crash in St. Johns County

ELKTON, Fla. — One person was killed and five others were injured in a head-on crash late Saturday night on State Road 207 and Brough Road in Elkton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 31-year old man from St. Augustine was traveling north in the southbound lanes of SR 207 in a pickup truck when he struck another pickup truck head-on.

The pickup truck that was struck head-on was carrying five people, including a 2-year-old girl.

A 29-year-old man from Akron, Ohio, died in the crash. Originally, an FHP report stated that a 32-year-old female from Clinton, Ohio, died, but FHP updated its report on Tuesday to state that the woman has critical injuries.

FHP reported the driver of the pickup truck, a 31-year-old man from Jacksonville, and the 2-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.

A 31-year-old woman from Jacksonville, who was a passenger in the pickup, suffered critical injuries. The wrong-way driver has serious injuries, FHP said.
