Georgia high school football players help with Hurricane Matthew cleanup in Clay County

The clean up from Hurricane Matthew continues across the area and support keeps pouring in from near and far.

A bus load of high school football players from just outside of Valdosta joined the effort Monday in Fleming Island. The Lanier County High School Bulldogs decided to spend their day off helping others.

Head Coach Carl Parker is no stranger to the Jacksonville area, serving as an assistant at Bartram Trail, Trinity Christian, and Bolles.

"We've got a bunch of strong backs and healthy young men and this is one thing we can do, just trying to get our young men to think what it means to be good citizens and give back to a community" said Parker.

The Bulldogs return to football on Friday night and do some with some new fans in Clay County.
