Georgia High School Associates voted unanimously to delay high school football by two weeks

Georgia — The Georgia High School Association voted unanimously to delay the start of the football season by two weeks Monday afternoon.

The season will start the weekend of Sept. 4, with two preceding weeks used for scrimmages.

The beginning of practices remains the same, starting July 27.

The delay is only for football. All other high school sports are expected to start on schedule.
