“Who would have thought a toaster could feed so many families.” - Susan King, president/CEO of Feeding Northeast Florida
What started as a fun social media campaign by Jacksonville Jaguars fans to buy Trevor Lawrence and his new bride Marissa a $300 toaster from their wedding registry has turned into thousands of dollars being donated to Northeast Florida charities.
Eric Dillard, known to Jaguars fans on Twitter as @E_Dilla, shared an infographic update Friday on Twitter, detailing how much money has been raised and which organizations will benefit.
Fans donated $11,203, the Lawrences donated $20,000 and Revolution Cooking donated $5,000. The donations will be distributed to the following charities:
- $18,734 to Feeding Northeast Florida
- $8,734 to K9s For Warriors
- $8,734 to 5 Star Veterans Center
Golfer Billy Horschel is also matching the $18,734 donation to Feeding Northeast Florida. The grand total going to charity is $54,938.
After an incredible week of giving I’d like to update everyone on where the Toaster for Charity money is going!!

On Monday, Lawrence said he and his wife would be donating $20,000 to charity in addition to the fan donations.
Horschel said if Lawrence donated to Feeding Northeast Florida, he would match the donation. Horschel said on Twitter on Friday that he was happy that Lawrence chose to donate to Feeding Northeast Florida and he was “happy to match the whole donation.”
Great to see the Jax community support these charities! @Trevorlawrencee glad to see you choose @FeedingNEFL and I’m happy to match the whole donation. @E_Dilla Well done! https://t.co/HNxmN2XxxP
