DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have released its kicker Josh Lambo, the team announced Tuesday morning.
Lambo has been with the team since 2017 and and he finishes his career with the Jags as the most accurate kicker in franchise history.
His release comes right after the Jaguars victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in London where, Matthew Wright, a software engineer-turned-kicker, made the game-winning field goal.
Head Coach Urban Meyer says it’s Wright’s job moving forward.
Lambo wrote an open letter to the fans that he shared on his Twitter page, thanking fans for their support and saying, “My time as a Jaguar has come to an end, but my time here in Jacksonville and the First Coast is only beginning!”
