Tornado watch canceled for Southeast Georgia, portions of Northeast Florida

A Tornado Watch for all of Southeast Georgia and portions of Northeast Florida has been canceled.

Temperatures today make it to the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

A few showers/storms could develop in NE Florida by early this afternoon around 2 p.m. This is ahead of a line that will arrive into the evening commute. A strong storm is possible with this batch.

​​A broken line of showers/storms will then push southeast into the area between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Storms will hit Waycross to Lake City to Brunswick from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Baker County from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Jacksonville metro by 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and St. Augustine from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Gusty winds are possible 40-50+ mph with any strong storms

A few strong to severe storms possible as the line moves in. Best spot for that is north and west of Downtown Jacksonville.

The main threat is gusty winds and brief, heavy rainfall.

An isolated tornado is possible, but that is a “low” end threat.

Storm motion will be northeast at 35 + mph with individual cells in the line.

TONIGHT:

• ​A cold front pushes through Waycross by 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., through Jacksonville by 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and St. Augustine by 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• Overnight lows will be in the 40s for Duval County.
